A thermocouple subcarrier oscillator for telemetering temperatures from pilotless aircraft

A subcarrier oscillator was designed which, in conjunction with the NACA telemetering system, gives a satisfactory method for telemetering temperatures by means of thermocouples from pilotless aircraft. The design uses a diode-bridge modulator in conjunction with a phase-shift oscillator; the thermocouple voltage is changed to alternating current and is used to shift the phase and hence to change the frequency of oscillation.
