Minimum-drag bodies of revolution in a nonuniform supersonic flow field

A general expression for the cross-sectional-area distribution of the minimum-drag body of revolution of given volume and length in a nonuniform supersonic flow field is derived on the basis of linearized theory. This result is restricted to cases where the potential of the disturbance to the uniform stream can be expanded in a Taylor's series about the body axis.
