The mean and turbulent momentum terms in fully developed turbulent pipe flow were experimentally evaluated. The terms of the longitudinal-direction momentum equation, obtained from the Reynolds equations of turbulent fluid motion, were experimentally evaluated in a 4-inch-diameter pipe from total- and static-pressure data and hot-wired anemometer surveys.
