The performance characteristics of a turbine with nontwisted rotor blades suitable for air cooling were determined. The turbine-design requirements were the same as those of the turbine of a contemporary turbojet engine, geometric departures from the design of the existing turbine were made only where simplicity of cooling the rotor blades would result.
