Stresses and deformations in wings subjected to torsion

Basin equations of Karman and Chien (given in, Torsion with Variable Twist, Jour. Aero. Sci., vol 13, no. 10, Oct, 1946, pp. 503-510) are solved by representing the shape of a torsion box by means of a Fourier series. The coefficients of the series are determined by conventional methods. Angles of twist, longitudinal stresses, and shear stresses are determined in terms of the series coefficients.
