Use of a consolidated porous medium for measurement of flow rate and viscosity of gases at elevated pressures and temperatures

The use of a consolidated porous medium as a gas-metering device and for determination of gas viscosity has been investigated over a moderate range of temperature and pressure. With normal laboratory techniques it appears possible to calibrate large porous Alundum filtering thimbles to meter gas with a probable error of 0.1 to 0.2 percent.
