Experimental investigation of the local and average skin friction in the laminar boundary layer on a flat plate at a Mach number of 2.4

The average skin-friction coefficients were calculated by the momentum-loss method from impact-pressure surveys of the boundary layer. These coefficients were plotted as a function of Reynolds number based upon distance from the plate leading edge and they were 37 to 94 percent higher than values predicted by theory.
