The effect of spanwise aileron location on the rolling effectiveness of 0.2-chord plain faired ailerons on untapered wing plan forms having 0 and 45 degree sweep, NACA 65A009 airfoil sections, and an aspect ratio of 3.7 has been investigated at subsonic, transonic, and supersonic speeds by the Langley Pilotless Aircraft Research Division utilizing rocket- propelled test vehicles.
