Investigates laminar and turbulent boundary layers for the flow of a gas over two-dimensional bodies and bodies of revolution with heat transfer through their surfaces. Momentum and energy integral relations for the boundary layer are derived and approximate methods for determining various boundary-layer parameters are developed from the integral relations. The paramenters which can be determined are: heat-transfer coefficients, friction coefficients, boundary-layer thicknesses, and the velocity and temperature distributions through the boundary layer. Formulas for the profile drag are given for the cases where shock waves are absent.
