Performance of a ram-jet-type combustor with flame holders immersed in the combustion zone

The beneficial effects on stability limits and combustion efficiency produced by the application of surfaces immersed in the combustion zone to a ram-jet-type burner are reported. The flame holders, consisted of a single row of aluminum-sprayed carbon wedges.
